Umar Syaid Himawan
Android Engineer · Jakarta, Indonesia
Origin
I started in Yogyakarta, studying informatics at Universitas Amikom, and fell in love with mobile development early on. There was something compelling about building something people could hold in their hands — a small screen, but a world of possibility.
My first real industry project was at WIR Group, where I built the Mediv App for Kimia Farma. It reached 10,000+ downloads and taught me what it means to ship software that real users depend on — not just code that compiles.
Now
- —Android Developer at Bank Tabungan Negara — building the banking app for millions of BTN customers.
- —Founder of HMWN Studio — a solo indie app studio with multiple apps live on Google Play.
- —Creating #BahasAplikasi — a content project helping people discover the best apps for their daily needs.
Vision
Great software is invisible — it just works, and it feels right. My goal is to build apps that people genuinely enjoy using, not just tolerate. Whether it's a banking app handling critical transactions or a small utility app I built over a weekend, the standard is the same: ship something you're proud of.
